Ministry Partners
Jesus claimed that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind. We are convinced that a net is only as strong as the bonds between its fibers. As we take our place among the net of believers in our community, we are aware that we must hold strong connections with the other ministries, congregations, and organizations around us who are serving the Kingdom of Heaven. These connections also provide our church with an opportunity to practice giving generously and sharing the resources that God has entrusted us with. The following list contains information about who we are linked with and details some basic information about them.
Local Ministries
Love INC
Love INC exists through the collaborative efforts of a number of local congregations who desire to give the church practical ways to serve our community. They engage in numerous social service projects and other benevolent deeds which provide hands-on assistance to those in need. Renewal supports this ministry with monthly giving from our general budget and encourages our members to connect with Love INC to find a way to serve. Additionally, Renewal contributes monthly to the community emergency housing fund which is managed with cooperation between Love INC and Love Overwhelming.
Lower Columbia Young Life & Young Lives
Young Life is an organization that focuses on reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They do this by maintaining a presence on local school campuses through volunteer and contact work and by putting on weekly clubs and bible studies. Young Life receives monthly support from Renewal and we enthusiastically encourage our members to volunteer and/or support this organization with their own time and resources as well.
Another branch of this ministry is Young Lives. Young Lives is an outreach and mentoring program for pregnant and parenting teenagers, up to age 21. It uniquely provides young moms with a support system that goes beyond just a transactional service and cares for them through practical means and relationships.
Cowlitz County Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy provides support services to Police/Fire/EMS personnel and their families. They work hand in hand with first responders to provide crisis intervention support to the community in times of need. Additionally they provide relational, emotional and spiritual support to anyone (regardless of faith) upon request. Renewal supports the Chaplaincy with monthly support as well.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
FCA is a ministry that aims to share the gospel with young people through sports-related small groups and by ministering to and through coaches. We support FCA with a monthly donation as well.
Royal Family KIDS | For The Children Camp & Mentor Club
The mission of For The Children is to transform local communities by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system. Their flagship program, Royal Family KIDS summer camp, along with year-round mentoring programs are dedicated to changing the trajectory of these young lives by healing the scars of the past.
For The Children hopes to transform these children into resilient adults with the ability to overcome challenges and be successful and healthy members of our community. Renewal is the host church for our local chapter that serves Cowlitz & Wahkiakum counties.
Family Promise
Family Promise helps families with children experiencing homelessness or housing instability to achieve a sustainable independence through a community-based response. They serve families with prevention, shelter, and then stabilization. The end result being families that graduate the program and have life skills and housing and are able to support themselves. Our church body helps by providing meals to families in the shelter every few months.
Longview Ministerial Association
This organization exists to provide opportunities for collegial relationship and cooperation among the pastors of Longview and Kelso. Our pastor, James is a member of this organization and currently serving as treasurer.
